Branding — remove the Powered by werila footer
By default, the widget shows a small "Powered by werila" line at the bottom of the chat pane. It's not loud — small type, low contrast — but for paying customers who want a fully-white-labelled experience, it can be turned off.
How to remove Powered by werila
- Admin → Widget → Branding.
- Toggle Hide branding on.
- Save.
The widget config refreshes on the next visitor load (cached up to a minute), and the footer disappears for new sessions.
When the toggle is locked
If you don't have branding removal enabled on your workspace, the toggle is read-only and the footer stays on. The page still shows the toggle so you know the feature exists — talk to us to turn it on.
When the toggle is locked, the server forces showBranding=true
regardless of what's stored on your widget config. We do this so the
display state never disagrees with the entitlement state.
What about my logo / colors / bot name?
Different page. Visual branding — bot name, primary color, avatar — lives on Widget → Appearance. The footer toggle is only the "Powered by" attribution at the bottom of the chat pane; it has no effect on the bot's visible identity.
Common questions
- How do I remove the "Powered by werila" footer? Widget → Branding → toggle on, save. Requires the feature to be enabled on your workspace.
- Why is the toggle locked? This feature isn't enabled on your workspace yet — contact us if you'd like it on.
- Can I change the footer to something else? No — the choice is show or hide. We don't currently support custom footer copy.
- Does this affect bot name / colors / avatar? No, those are on Widget → Appearance. This page is just the footer.
- The footer is still there after I hid it. Either your workspace doesn't have the feature on (toggle's read-only) or the cached config hasn't refreshed yet (up to a minute).
